Discover

Located on the quiet street of Aleea După Ziduri, Graft bastion attracts many tourists interested in the medieval traces which can still be found in Braşov. The 500 year old rectangular bastion was kept by the Saddlers’ Guild and it also had a role of surveillance and defence. If you follow the trail upward on Warthe Hill, you will reach another surveillance tower, the White Tower. Now the Graft Bastion is part of Braşov County History Museum and inside you have the opportunity to admire a unique exhibition called „The Craftsmen of Braşov– the City Defenders“.

Did you know?

In 1809, the bastion’s foundation was weakened due to a flood. This is why the architects decided to consolidate it with three support arches over the Graft River, one of the arches still being visible today.

Conservation facts

The Bastion was renovated from 2004 to 2005 and that’s when the connection with the White Tower was done.
