Discover

With a history of over 500 years, the Black Church is an undisputed landmark of Braşov.

The imposing building took its name after the Great Fire from 1689 which almost destroyed it completely, with the ash and smoke blackening its massive walls. The church was restored in the late Gothic style and is the home of the largest bell in Romania. Inside, you will be amazed by an astonishing collection of old carpets from Minor Asia, furniture and paintings dating back a few hundred years ago.

If you are visiting Braşov during the summer, don't miss one of the organ concerts which are held here.
