Spectacular Roads

In Romania you will find some of the most spectacular roads in the world. The Transfagarasan, the "best way to drive the world", named by Top Gear, reaches a maximum altitude of 2,042 m at Bâlea Lac, followed by Transalpina, the ancient pastoral road that was used by Roman armies on their way to Sarmisegetusa, and now fascinating with the beautiful wilderness of the landscape up to 2,145 m. Other spectacular roads that cross impressive landscapes are the Trans-Bucegi or the Transrarau, or those passing through the Danube Gorges, the Cerna Valley, the Olt Gorges or the Bicaz Gorges.
