Valea Ţesnei Nature Reserve is located in Mehedinţi Mountains, 12 km upstream from Băile Herculane. Included in the Domogled-Valea Cernei National Park, the reserve stretches over 160 ha and it stands out with its spectacular relief carved out by Ţesna stream in the Mehedinţi Mountains.
