Bigăr Spring is located on the administrative territory of Bozovici, Caraş-Severin County. The spring is located near the DN57B National road which connects Anina with Bozovici village.

The reserve can be visited all year round. It is advisable to wear proper mountain gear (danger of vipers).

Bigăr Spring is a nature reserve in the Banat Mountains which stretches over 177 ha and is included in the Nera Gorges-Beuşniţa National Park. Once you find yourself here, you will be amazed by the wild gorges, the limestone slopes, mysterious caves, multicolored meadows and clearings which create a wonderful scenery.

Maybe the most spectacular landscape is found at Bigăr Waterfall, formed by the waters of the Bigăr Spring when they flow into the Miniş River.

Conservation facts

Bigăr Spring nature reserve is a vulnerable area due to the fact that it was affected by many illegal activities like deforestation, poaching or inappropriate tourism.

The park has warning/information panels and paths / trails to explore.
