Discover

Vlad Dracul House in Sighişoara is a medieval building which belonged to the voivode Vlad Dracul. This became a major tourist attraction because it is believed that this is the place where Vlad the Impaler, who inspired Bram Stoker’s character Dracula, was born. Currently the ground floor houses as a restaurant (they serve the “Prince Dracula’s dish”) where you can admire a few old frescos, while on the second floor you can visit the room where supposedly Vlad the Impaler was born. The room is adorned with some elements reminding of the impalement practiced by the feared ruler.

Did you know?

In all likelihood it is believed that Vlad the Impaler lived here up to the age of 4 as his father stayed here for only 5 years, between 1431 and 1436.
