The Corvin Castle


The Corvin Castle is located at 1-3 Castelului Street in Hunedoara City, Hunedoara County.

Opening hours: daily between 09:00 - 17:00, Monday 12:00-17:00. The last entry is 45 minutes before closing time.

The Corvin Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Romania, is a splendid medieval construction built in the Gothic style, located near Hunedoara.

Built in the 14th century, the castle was for a long period of time the residence of the Corvins’ whose members made their own modification or additions.

The castle impresses with its towers, bastions and donjon which gives it a unique charm. The access to the castle is by crossing a wooden bridge supported by massive stone pillars fixed in the Zlasti river.

The spacious chambers will no doubt impress you while the exhibitions and collections will transport you back in time.

Did you know?

In the castle’s courtyard near the chapel, there is a 30 m deep well. The legend says that it was dug by three Turkish prisoners for a period of 15 years. In exchange they were promised freedom should they reach water.
