Dan Dinu offers you a unique experience: a photo tour in Transylvania.

Although Transylvania is known worldwide as the home of Dracula, this picturesque region surrounded by the Carpathians has much more to offer than myths and legends. Located in the middle of the country, Transylvania was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the majority of villages and towns in the area still bear a distinct medieval imprint.

The Saxon fortified churches were built in order to defend the people against the Mongol and Turkish invasions. Seven of the them, which raise above the villages in the hills of Transylvania: Biertan, Câlnic, Dârjiu Viscri, Prejmer, Saschiz and Valea Viilor, are included in the UNESCO World Heritage, alongside the Sighisoara Fortress. Even though these churches are remarkable through the style and beauty, the landscape as a whole is the one who gives the charm of these lands. Beautiful meadows, oak forests, villages scattered among the hills and the vicinity of the Carpathian Mountains, make this area one of the most spectacular in Romania.

The most beautiful and photogenic cities of Romania, such as Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara are found in Transylvania also. Medieval architecture and monuments, streets full of life and the natural environment of these cities, gives them a special feel. The villages from Rucar-Bran, scattered on the hills in the vicinity of Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains; the hills of Hârtibaciu, guarded by the Fagaras Mountains, the highest peaks in Romania; the local peoples still living like many years ago; the traditional crafts long forgotten in other parts of Europe and the Bran Castle with many of its myths about Dracula, are part of the story of this land.

Transylvania is a wonderful area, a realm that charmed even Charles, Prince of Wales, who feel just like home in Transylvanian villages.
